IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT BACKPACKS

❖ Backpacks should only weigh between 5-10lbs.

❖ Most children’s school backpacks weigh with their books between 25-30lbs.

❖ The backpack should be over both shoulders as the picture above shows the child is leaning.

❖ Backpacks should not be picked up with one hand, as the picture shows she is hurting her back.

❖ Carry morning period books first and then go to your locker after lunch and switch to pm books.

❖ Keep your backpacks as light as you can.

❖ Chiropractors are seeing an increase in neck, shoulder, and back problems in children.

❖ Chiropractors are seeing an increase in scoliosis (side curve) in the spine from backpacks.

❖ Use rolling backpacks if your child can not lighten their backpack.
